    Medical writing

    Summary

    Emma has over 8 years of experience working in medical communications, primarily within agencies (Complete Medical Communications, Gardiner-Caldwell Communications and Acumed). She has worked in a number of roles including: Scientific Director, Professional Relations Manager, Senior Medical Writer and Technical Writer. She started working as a freelance medical writer in November 2006.

    Experience

    My experience in medical communications covers the following:

    Editorial

  • Manuscripts (original research articles, editorials, reviews etc.).
  • Training, medical education and detailing materials
  • Website and interactive programme content
  • In depth reviewing of editorial outputs
  • Meeting reports (from congress reviews to advisory board reports)
  • Meetings materials (abstracts, posters, slide sets etc.)
  • Evidence based guidelines and clinical evidence dossiers
  • Technical writing (on-line help and manuals)

    Strategic

  • Development and delivery of Professional Relations programmes, encompassing thought leader identification, profiling and relationship management
  • Development of strategic communication plans encompassing:
      - thought leader management
      - publication planning
      - meeting design and delivery
      - internal awareness campaigns
  • Development of meetings programmes
