I am skilled and available for either freelance or part-time medical writing. Some of the diverse projects that I have participated in include:

  • Translating, proofreading, and editing medical articles (currently as a doctoral student for the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine at the Université Aix-Marseille, France)
  • Freelance medical writing on a project regarding anemia in chronic kidney disease for a medical communications company
  • Involvement in education of patients with chronic illnesses and preparation of educational materials, especially Type II Diabetes (during period as clinic supervisor for two years, 2003-2005)
  • Development of a booklet for patients with COPD concerning medical/educational content for both the patient and the medical provider to follow (during French hospital internship in 2006)
  • Collaboration as part of a working group on a report for the French National Authority for Health, with recently published (12/07) recommendations for future cooperation between health care professionals in France
  • Peer reviewing for Promotion and Education of the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE).

My clinical experience from the U.S. as a Nurse Practitioner in Family Practice (since 2003) and as a Registered Nurse in Intensive Care (since 1999) allows me to exercise genuine interest and concrete understanding of both chronic and acute disease processes, their diagnosis, assessment, and outcomes, and as an up-to-date prescriber, their pertinent pharmacological management. Having completed a Master’s in Science of Nursing and a Master’s in Health Promotion & Education, and working toward the completion of a science Doctorate in Public Health, I am motivated to continue the expansion of my research and communication skills in order to ameliorate the quality of patient care. I plan to continue involvement in a wide variety of medical communications and medical education topics on the national and international level.

I have a teamwork attitude, strong written, verbal and computer skills, and English is my native language (with an advanced level of French). Though I plan to continue work from my home-base in France, I am willing to travel occasionally. Please contact me to discuss the possibility of future projects.
