    CAREERS WORKSHOP, 17-18 APRIL 2008 - OXFORD

This 2-day workshop was intended as a pilot exercise and the immediate feedback has been excellent. The intention is to stay in touch with all delegates and track what happens - whether any get jobs and if so where and in what roles and how they get on. It was run with funding from Oxford University as well as the support of four leading MedComms agencies. Fifteen delegates with a genuine interest in joining the MedComms industry heard from a superb line up of speakers about the pharmaceutical industry, the role of MedComms agencies and the specifics about working as a medical writer and some of the activities they would expect to undertake. We were able to highlight related writing roles as well as other roles within the agencies such as Account Management.
